Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride ($445)

A dental assistant holding this expanded duty permit may polish coronal surfaces of teeth or prepare teeth for band cementation or bonding of brackets utilizing a slow speed rotary handpiece and rubber cup or brush and apply topical fluoride and desensitizing agents. Please note: examination for calculus and scaling must be done by a dentist or dental hygienist.

Requirements
EACH OF THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET:
  • Hold a current Dental Assisting Permit from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
  • Must be currently employed as a chairside dental assistant.
  • The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry has removed the 1-year chairside requirement. However, we highly recommend no one enroll in this course until they are proficient in working in a mouth to ensure success in completing this course. Failing the clinical portion course will require repeating the entire course at full price.
  • Participants are required to provide their own slow-speed handpiece (with motor and adaptor). Please do not enroll more employees than you have available handpieces.
  • The participant is required to provide a patient (and potentially a practice patient) for this course.
  • The participant is also required to provide their own PPE and some supplies.
Before Enrolling
  • ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE. Hard copy applications will not be accepted.
  • The enrollment fee must be PAID IN FULL, and the application approved before the applicant will be given a spot in the course.
  • You will not be considered for enrollment with an incomplete application. (Read carefully to avoid a delay in your enrollment.)
  • Applications will be processed in the order they are received.
  • Once payment is received and the application is approved, a final confirmation with a receipt will be sent.
