Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride ($445)

A dental assistant holding this expanded duty permit may polish coronal surfaces of teeth or prepare teeth for band cementation or bonding of brackets utilizing a slow speed rotary handpiece and rubber cup or brush and apply topical fluoride and desensitizing agents. Please note: examination for calculus and scaling must be done by a dentist or dental hygienist.

Requirements

EACH OF THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET:

Hold a current Dental Assisting Permit from the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
Must be currently employed as a chairside dental assistant.
The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry has removed the 1-year chairside requirement. However, we highly recommend no one enroll in this course until they are proficient in working in a mouth to ensure success in completing this course. Failing the clinical portion course will require repeating the entire course at full price.
Participants are required to provide their own slow-speed handpiece (with motor and adaptor). Please do not enroll more employees than you have available handpieces.
The participant is required to provide a patient (and potentially a practice patient) for this course.
The participant is also required to provide their own PPE and some supplies.

Before Enrolling

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE. Hard copy applications will not be accepted.
The enrollment fee must be PAID IN FULL, and the application approved before the applicant will be given a spot in the course.
You will not be considered for enrollment with an incomplete application. (Read carefully to avoid a delay in your enrollment.)
Applications will be processed in the order they are received.
