Nitrous Oxide Application ($430)

Dental Assistants holding this expanded duty permit may act as a third hand under direct visual supervision while a dentist is administering nitrous oxide. Dental assistants cannot administer nitrous oxide. (Please direct all questions regarding specifics to the Board of Dentistry.)

Dental Hygienists authorized by the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry to perform this advanced procedure may administer nitrous oxide.

Please read the following information before proceeding to the application at the bottom of the page. Failure to do so could potentially delay or void your enrollment.
Requirements

EACH OF THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET:

Dental Assistants MUST:

  • Hold a current Dental Assisting Permit from the Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry
  • Be currently employed
  • Have a Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer CPR card or eCard from a provider that does IN-PERSON skills testing (No online skills testing allowed)
  • CPR must be current at the time of the course. If it expires before the course, you must renew before enrolling.
  • National CPR Foundation Courses are not accepted.
  • All participants must administer AND receive Nitrous Oxide. If you are pregnant, you cannot attend this course.

Dental Hygienists MUST:

Before Enrolling
  • ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE. Hard copy applications will not be accepted.
  • The enrollment fee must be PAID IN FULL, and the application approved before the applicant will be given a spot in the course.
  • You will not be considered for enrollment with an incomplete application (Read carefully to avoid a delay in your enrollment.)
  • Applications will be processed in the order they are received.
  • Once payment is received and the application is approved, a final confirmation with receipt will be sent.
  • To avoid confirmation emails and course packets from being blocked or sent to junk/spam folders, add [email protected] and [email protected] to your safe sender list.
  • Space is limited.

If your CPR card expires before your course date, your application will NOT be accepted. Please obtain a CPR that will be valid at the time of your course before enrolling. Letters from the instructor will not work in place of the card/eCard.
